James B. Lumenta

(Founding Partner, Senior Counsel, Licensed Patent & Trademark Attorney)

Lumenta has his Bachelor degree in Law from University of Indonesia and Master Degree (LL.M) from School of Law - University of California at Los Angeles (USA). Lumenta is the first Indonesian IP lawyer who enjoyed special trainings on Intellectual Property law and practice in Japan and Republic of Korea under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization. He is also a graduate in Pharmacy and Cultural Anthropology with “Drs” degrees.

Lumenta is a registered Intellectual Property Attorney whose practice encompasses primarily pharmaceutical patents, intellectual property and know-how licensing, counseling clients as to corporate and general business law. He is the co-founder of Amroos & Partners with more than 20 years experience in IP practice, particularly in dealing with IP management and he used to be a lecturer to the special graduate programs in both private and public universities as well as researcher on Intellectual Property Law of Asian countries. He also used to be the Indonesia’s Country Head and Vice President of the Asean Intellectual Property Association. Lumenta is currently the Founding Partner, the Senior Consultant and the Registered Patent Attorney of LUMENTA, SITORUS & PARTNERS (LSP).

Lasman Sitorus

(Managing Partner, Licenced Patent & Trademark Attorney & General Lawyer)

Sitorus is a Bachelor in Law from Christian University of Indonesia. He also has a Master-of-Law degree from Tarumanegara University majoring in Intellectual Property Law. With an extensive intellectual property law career during the past 15 years tenure as the senior partner of Amroos & Partners, Sitorus is a renown intellectual property lawyer. He is both a flexible negotiator in ADR and a tough litigator before the Indonesian Trial and Appellate Court to secure a favorable outcome for clients in any dispute involving IP. He left Amroos in the first mass exodus following the departure of Mr. James B. Lumenta, and is now responsible for the management and day-to-day operational activities of LUMENTA, SITORUS & PARTNERS (LSP). Sitorus is a member of Asian Patent Attorney Association.

Risa Y. Munawar

(Partner - Head of Patent Group, Licenced Patent & Trademark Attorney)

Risa has her Bachelor degree in Gas and Petrochemical Engineering from University of Indonesia from which she once studied chemistry. In 1995, Risa also took Master Program in Gas Technology under Metallurgy Department of the University of Indonesia majoring in Methane Conversion.

Based on her in-depth knowledge in chemistry and chemical engineering, thereafter supported by her experience leading the Patent division in the former law firm (Amroos & Partners) for more than 6 years, Risa has demonstrated her remarkable professional skills in almost every aspect of patent management. She joined the first mass exodus from Amroos & Partners and is now overseeing the patent group in LUMENTA, SITORUS & PARTNERS (LSP), which involves chemical, electrical and mechanical patents. She also used to be a researcher at the University of Indonesia, joining “Research Grant Program”, specifically in the field of methane conversion and catalysts; and she was once a member Research Fellow at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. Risa is a member of Asian Patent Attorney Association.

Selly L. Sitanggang

(Partner – Head of Trademark Group, Licenced Patent & Trademark Attorney)

Selly has a Bachelor degree in Law from University of Padjadjaran and an undergraduate in English language (SS) from School of Higher Learning of Foreign Languages (STBA). She is admitted to the Indonesian Bar Association (AAI) and representing clients before appellate courts.

Seven years with Amroos & Partners, she used to be Head of Trademark Group, being in charge of all aspects of trademark works. Prior to her employment with Amroos & Partners she worked for Venture Capital Company as a legal officer.

Leaving Amroos & Partners in the first mass exodus, she currently joins LUMENTA, SITORUS & PARTNERS (LSP) as the Head of Trademark Group in dealing with all trademark matters. The practice includes consultation on trademark selection and registrability; conducting availability searches, application filings, and other matters associated with trademark surveillance, maintenance and enforcement services. She writes a number of reports in anti-counterfeiting cases for national and international journals. She is a member of Asian Patent Attorney Association.
